Gadsden City Schools Enrichment Program was developed to meet the needs of a diverse student population and to provide enrichment services to those students exhibiting high learning potential in each individual school in the system regardless of school achievement levels or ethnic representation. The matrix used in determination is an adapted version of the state-recommended matrix. Equitable services are provided through a pull-out program in grades 3-5. Services are equitable in ethnic representation, time, and quality provided to students from each school. Students are provided weekly services to include differentiated instruction and activities that provide opportunities for expanding creativity, developing of higher order thinking skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Gifted specialists provide services for the eight elementary schools in the system. The certified gifted specialists plan, teach, and facilitate the learning environment for all of the schools. Services are provided at the Creative Thinking Center located adjacent to Eura Brown Elementary School. All qualifying students in grades 3 – 5 from each of the eight elementary schools are brought to the Creative Thinking Center on their designated day each week.
