Leaving Nashville, Tennessee and coming to Alabama as a college freshman at Birmingham-Southern was a great decision for me. From that one choice came work as an Alabama educator, my husband, Steve, and our two sons. It has been a wonderful life in Gadsden….now for over 30 years. After teaching for 6 years in Birmingham and beginning a family, I felt the yearn to return to the classroom. So I did return for a while as a teacher at our church program, First Methodist’s Mother’s Day Out, now the ELC. A wonderful opportunity to fill a leave at Eura Brown came my way and I have been here ever since. I have had the privilege of teaching so many at Eura Brown and now working with my former students who are now parents of our present students. Our family has grown to include a daughter-in-law and soon we will welcome our first grandchild to the loving chaos! I come early and stay late because I love what I do and where I do it! I know that I am blessed beyond measure to work with children during these crucial early years.
