Eura Brown Virtual Book Fair
Time Machine : Books Can Take You Anywhere
The time has come for our Fall Book Fair. As with everything else, it will look and feel much different this year. Due to restrictions on visitors in the building and social distancing guidelines associated with COVID-19, our book fair will be completely virtual. I plan to make this special week as much fun as possible here in the school for our students, but I will need your help at home with the shopping!
First things first, you will need a scholastic account in order to shop. Some of you may already have one, but if you do not please create one by going to Scholastic and clicking on the option to create an account.
Second important tasks to remember is ALWAYS use the link below for shopping. There are many different ways to shop scholastic, but for our Book Fair and for our library to receive the profit we MUST use this specific link. You can view the page now, but the shopping link is not live just yet.
Book/Author Highlights for our Book Fair – Watch the following clips for more information on some of the new and most exciting titles from our fair this Fall.
Kindergarten – 3rd Grade Book Highlights
4th Grade – 6th Grade Book Highlights
Teacher Wish Lists – Teachers will create wish list and those will be posted here. While shopping, look for those titles and select the ones you would like to gift to the teacher. The books will ship directly to your home. Once they are received, you can hand deliver your gift directly to your teacher. Lists are not published now, they will be added as the teachers are able to look through the site and pick their favorites from the store.
Raffle Entry – I will be giving away a basket of books to 2 students. In order to have your name entered into the raffle, you must print off or take a picture of your shopping receipt and send to me. For every book you purchase, you will get your name entered into the drawing. I’ll draw one name from K-2 students and one name from 3-5 students. I will draw names on November 20th. You can turn those in by sending with your child to school or emailing me the email confirmation/picture of your purchase.
Time Travel Days (Dress Up) – On Friday, November 13th, students are encouraged to dress up as we travel through time. Students can choose to dress as someone from the past or from the future. I will also have a few photo booths around the school so that students can have their picture taken if they’d like. Pictures will be free of charge and just a way to get students excited about reading and traveling through time by using a book as your means of transportation.
The fair will run for 2 weeks, November 5th -18th. FREE standard shipping on book-only purchases over $25. All orders will ship directly to your home. The library will receive 25% of our total sales. Our goal this fair is to sell 1,541 books. Let’s work hard to reach our goal.
